Clontarf is served by Dublin Bus, its own station on the (DART) Dublin Area Rapid Transit suburban rail system and It lies between the coastal and inland roads from Dublin to Howth.

DART: Clontarf is most accessible via rail as it lies on the DART line with its own station, Clontarf Road railway station, (the first stop north of the city centre on the DART system), is located between Clontarf and Fairview.
